Jon Stewart Can't Get Over His Resemblance to the Patient in Trump's Jesus Meme

The 'Daily Show' host used his Monday monologue to skewer the president's AI-generated image — and to question why the bedridden man in it looks suspiciously familiar.

Jon Stewart had a lot to say about President Donald Trump's controversial AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ. But before diving into the political implications, the *Daily Show* host couldn't shake one nagging detail: the sickly patient Trump's Jesus appeared to be healing bore an uncanny resemblance to Stewart himself.

"Oh my god. Wait, the guy in the bed … Am I okay?" Stewart said during Monday night's monologue, as reported by The Wrap. "I know I don't have the vigor and spunk of my MTV days, but I didn't know we were here already. I didn't realize my look had reached leper territory."

Stewart gleefully picked apart every absurd detail of the image, from a random eagle to what he described as an unidentified man's hand "taking advantage of my infirmity to touch my penis." He also mocked the AI's apparent limitations. "I can give you the fireworks and the healing powers and I can make you Jesus, but you weigh what you weigh," Stewart said, imagining the technology's inner monologue. "Sorry. It just is what it is."

The comedian saved particular scorn for Trump's claim that the image depicted him as a doctor, not the Messiah. "That's you as a doctor?" Stewart asked incredulously, before cutting to Leonardo da Vinci's *The Last Supper*. "You put yourself out there as Jesus. You got f--king called on it."

Stewart closed by pivoting to more serious ground, urging the president to address the ongoing conflict with Iran directly. "We're in the middle of a grinding war with Iran," he said. "Can you just address that in a straightforward way with the American people without all this other weird s--t going on?"
