The Washington Commanders are doing their homework on some of the draft's most intriguing wide receiver prospects. According to Yahoo Sports, the team will host Tennessee's Chris Brazzell II on a top 30 pre-draft visit, adding to a busy stretch that also includes a visit from Arizona State wideout Jordyn Tyson.

Brazzell's physical profile is hard to ignore. At 6-foot-4 and 198 pounds with a 4.37-second 40-yard dash, he projects as a vertical threat at the Z receiver position — a natural complement to entrenched X receiver Terry McLaurin. NFL.com scout Lance Zierlein described him as a "long-limbed" playmaker who "dominates above the rim" and shows the ability to create explosive plays downfield.

The 22-year-old Texan took a winding path to draft relevance. After redshirting at Tulane in 2022 and posting a solid 44-catch season in 2023, Brazzell transferred to Tennessee and steadily elevated his game. His breakout came in 2025, when he hauled in 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns, earning first-team All-SEC recognition.

Zierlein's scouting report noted some areas for growth, particularly in contested-catch situations underneath and against press coverage, challenges Brazzell didn't face regularly in college but will encounter immediately at the professional level. Zone-heavy defensive schemes could also limit his snap-to-snap impact.

Washington holds the No. 7 overall pick in next week's draft but doesn't select again until No. 71. Brazzell is widely projected as a Day 2 pick, meaning if he slips into the third round, the Commanders could land a high-ceiling receiver at a relative bargain. With the draft just days away, this visit could prove pivotal in shaping Washington's plans for its receiving corps.
