The second weekend of the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival turned into an arms race of surprise guest appearances, with some of pop music's biggest names showing up unannounced across multiple sets.

The most buzzworthy moment came Saturday night when Olivia Rodrigo joined Addison Rae on the festival's main stage. As Billboard reports, Rae sang her "Headphones On" lyric "I compare myself to the new It Girl," and out walked Rodrigo to thunderous applause. The pair then launched into the first-ever live performance of Rodrigo's brand-new single "Drop Dead," the lead track from her upcoming third album, *You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love*, due June 12 via Geffen. The two traded verses and bounded around the stage as the crowd surged with energy.

PinkPantheress, meanwhile, turned her weekend two set into a full-blown birthday celebration. Actor Tyriq Withers once again made frequent appearances, but this time the singer brought out a string of additional guests. Zara Larsson performed the title track from her album *Midnight Sun* and appeared to tease a PinkPantheress feature on its upcoming deluxe edition, *Girls Trip*. Janelle Monáe joined briefly to play guitar, and Australian DJ Ninajirachi provided a backdrop for cameos from actress Chase Infiniti, KATSEYE's Manon and Slayyyter. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the set culminated with Withers handing PinkPantheress a rose and wishing her a happy birthday as backup dancers unfurled a sign for the crowd.

Friday night's headlining set had already set a high bar. Sabrina Carpenter brought out Madonna, and the two performed a rendition of "Like A Prayer" that electrified the audience. Justin Bieber was set to headline Saturday night, with Karol G closing out the festival on Sunday.

For Rodrigo, the Coachella appearance is just the start of a busy stretch. She told British Vogue the new album is full of "sad love songs," inspired by her realization that her favorite romantic tracks always carried "a tinge of fear or yearning." Before the album drops, she'll pull double duty as host and musical guest on *Saturday Night Live* on May 2.
