The Los Angeles Rams find themselves in a rare and flexible spot heading into the 2026 NFL Draft. Holding the No. 13 overall pick with no glaring roster hole to fill, L.A. has the luxury of moving in either direction on the draft board.
Bleacher Report's Moe Moton laid out two hypothetical scenarios for general manager Les Snead. The first involves trading up to No. 7 with the Washington Commanders, sending picks No. 13 and No. 61, to grab Utah offensive tackle Spencer Fano. With Rob Havenstein retired and Warren McClendon Jr. slotted as the likely starter at right tackle, Fano — who has three years of starting experience — could provide immediate competition or serve as a high-upside backup on a Super Bowl-contending roster.
The second scenario flips the script entirely. The Rams would slide back three spots to No. 16 in a deal with the New York Jets, picking up a fourth-round pick in 2026 and another in 2027. That move would give L.A. additional capital to maneuver on Day 3 while still remaining in range for a quality receiver or lineman.
While Snead has publicly downplayed the likelihood of trading up, recent reports indicate the Rams have explored options earlier in the first round. Snead's track record — including the bold deal that landed cornerback Trent McDuffie from Kansas City — suggests nothing is off the table when draft night arrives.
