Dave Grohl called it the most fun Foo Fighters have had making a record in years. The result is Your Favorite Toy, the band's 12th studio album, out now.

The 10-track, 36-minute record was recorded at home and co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman, who has previously worked with The Cribs and Wolfmother. It marks the recorded debut of drummer Ilan Rubin, who joined the band after Josh Freese was dismissed last May. Freese had filled in for two years following the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins.

"No rules, no pressure — just the joy of plugging in and seeing what happens," Grohl told Classic Rock. "It's loud, it's melodic, it's weird in places… but it feels like us. It feels alive."

The album includes previously released tracks "Caught In The Echo," the title track, and "All of the People," which the band performed live at St James Church, an 80-seat historic venue in Dingle, Ireland. A music video for "Window," directed by Jake Erland, drops April 25 alongside the band's appearance on Saturday Night Live UK on Sky One.

Your Favorite Toy follows 2023's But Here We Are, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. That record was Foo Fighters' 10th top-10 entry on the chart. The band has scored two No. 1 albums: Wasting Light in 2011 and Concrete and Gold in 2017.

The album release launches the Take Cover Tour. The first date is a sold-out show April 28 at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A European leg follows, kicking off June 10 at Unity Arena in Oslo, Norway. The band then returns to North America for dates in August and September before heading to Australia and New Zealand in November and again in January 2027.
