Eli Lilly's new oral GLP-1 weight loss drug is now available through Amazon One Medical kiosks, letting patients walk out the same day with a prescription after speaking with a healthcare professional on site. The rollout marks a significant expansion in how Americans can access a class of medications that has dominated the weight loss market for the past several years.

The drug, called Foundayo, received FDA approval earlier this year. It is only the second GLP-1 medication to be approved in pill form, a distinction that makes it logistically simpler to stock and dispense than injectable versions, which require refrigeration. Amazon Pharmacy has offered home delivery of GLP-1 drugs since 2021 but could not stock them in kiosks until a pill formulation became available.

"GLP-1 pills do not require cold storage, allowing for broader access and for them to be stored safely in a kiosk for dispensing," said Tanvi Patel, a vice president at Amazon Pharmacy, in a press release. The company's kiosks, connected to One Medical locations, launched in 2025. There are currently five kiosks operating in parts of California.

Amazon One Medical kiosks had already been stocking Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill since January, making Foundayo the second oral GLP-1 available through the machines. People without a One Medical membership can still book an appointment and use the kiosks, though a one-year membership runs $199, or $99 with an Amazon Prime subscription.

Pricing for Foundayo starts at $149 per month for the lowest dose through self-pay channels, a figure shared by both WW International and GoodRx, which have announced they will separately offer the drug at that price. For people with commercial insurance, the cost could drop to as low as $25 per month. Medicare Part D enrollees may be able to access it for $50 per month beginning in July.

Amazon also plans to offer same-day delivery for Foundayo through Lilly's prescribing partners, including WW International. The company said it hopes to expand same-day delivery options to 4,500 locations by the end of 2026. Hannah McClellan Richards, another Amazon Pharmacy vice president, said the company is in talks with external health systems to bring kiosks beyond California this year.

Zhaoping Li, chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition at UCLA Health and director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition, told Healthline the expansion is welcome. "It is great to have new tools added to our toolbox to deal with obesity," Li said. The broader availability comes as GLP-1 medications remain among the most prescribed and discussed drugs in the country, with demand continuing to outpace traditional pharmacy supply chains.

Foundayo is available through Eli Lilly's direct program, LillyDirect, as well as through Amazon Pharmacy, which fulfills prescriptions made through that platform.
