Bruno Mars has landed at the top of the Latin music charts with his first Spanish-language studio recording, more than a decade after his last appearance on the Billboard Latin rankings.
According to Billboard, the track is called "Lo Arriesgo Todo," a Spanish rendition of his recent single "Risk It All." It was released May 8 on Atlantic Records and debuted at number 20 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, claimed the number one spot on both Hot Latin Pop Songs and Latin Digital Song Sales, and entered at number six on Latin Pop Airplay, based on the chart dated May 23.
The original English version of "Risk It All" appeared on Mars' album The Romantic, released February 27. When combining streams, airplay, and sales data from both the English and Spanish versions of the song, "Risk It All" re-entered the top 10 of the overall Billboard Hot 100, rising from number 15 to number 8. It also climbed on the all-format Radio Songs ranking and moved up on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The debut on the Latin charts marks a significant return for Mars. According to Luminate data cited by Billboard, in the week ending May 14, "Lo Arriesgo Todo" generated 1.6 million official streams, earned 1.9 million airplay audience impressions, and sold 1,000 downloads in the United States. The download figure was enough to give Mars his first ever entry on Latin Digital Song Sales, and it debuted at number one.
Mars' previous best showing on the Hot Latin Songs chart came through his featured appearance on Bad Meets Evil's "Lighters," which reached number 22 in 2011. The new debut at number 20 surpasses that peak and stands as his highest Latin chart position to date. Of his seven career entries on Hot Latin Songs, "Lo Arriesgo Todo" is his only Spanish-language recording.
On Latin Pop Airplay, the number six debut is Mars' second top 10 on that chart. His first came through his featured credit on Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk," which peaked at number 8 in 2015.
"Risk It All" is the second single from The Romantic. The album's first single, "I Just Might," reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The Romantic also gave Mars his second number one on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart in March.
