Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Brown County Jail on five charges stemming from an alleged domestic incident, according to ESPN and CBS Sports.
The Hobart-Lawrence (Wisconsin) Police Department responded to a disturbance complaint at approximately 8:37 a.m. on May 23. The charges include battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim. All five charges carry domestic abuse designations. According to NFL Media, Jacobs turned himself in to police on Tuesday. The Hobart-Lawrence Police did not release additional details, citing an ongoing investigation.
Jacobs' attorneys, David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld, and Clarence Duhac, issued a statement on his behalf. "Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," the statement read. "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
The NFL also responded. "We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club," the league said.
Jacobs, 27, enters his third season with the Packers in 2026. Last season he rushed for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns. He would have likely crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth time in his career had he not missed two games. Over his first seven seasons in the NFL, Jacobs won a rushing title with the Las Vegas Raiders, earned three Pro Bowl selections, and received a first-team All-Pro designation in 2022.
The investigation remains open and no further details have been made public by police.
