1. Boston Red Sox 4, Miami Marlins 2
The Boston Red Sox rallied late for a 4-2 victory over the Miami Marlins at loanDepot park, extending their winning streak to four games. Miami carried a 2-1 lead into the eighth inning before Wilyer Abreu scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. In the ninth, Anthony Seigler delivered the decisive hit with an RBI triple that scored pinch-runner Eli White. Nick Sogard followed with an RBI single to give Boston a two-run cushion.
Erik Miller earned the victory in relief, while Aroldis Chapman worked a scoreless ninth for his 30th save. Miami starter Sandy Alcantara allowed only one run over seven innings but did not receive a decision.
2. Tampa Bay Rays 4, Detroit Tigers 1
The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-1 behind another strong outing from Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen improved to 14-5 after allowing one run on three hits over six innings while striking out five. The victory was his seventh consecutive winning start.
Jonathan Aranda drove in two runs and hit a solo home run, while Chandler Simpson also contributed an RBI. Bryan Baker finished the game for his 38th save. Detroit dropped its sixth consecutive game, while Tampa Bay improved to 78-53 and strengthened its position atop the American League East.
3. Washington Nationals 13, Colorado Rockies 3
The Washington Nationals produced one of the biggest offensive performances of the day, defeating the Colorado Rockies 13-3. Colorado led 2-0 before Washington took control with a five-run fifth inning and continued adding runs throughout the remainder of the game.
Daylen Lile led the Nationals with three hits and five RBIs, including a three-run home run in the eighth inning. Jorbit Vivas collected three hits and drove in two runs. Cade Cavalli improved to 12-5 after allowing two runs on five hits over six innings while striking out seven. The victory ended Washington’s four-game losing streak.
4. Texas Rangers 11, Chicago White Sox 2
The Texas Rangers overwhelmed the Chicago White Sox 11-2, scoring in five of their first six trips to the plate. Corey Seager went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Jake Burger and Wyatt Langford each homered and drove in two runs.
Kumar Rocker earned the victory after allowing two runs and five hits over 5 2/3 innings. Chicago’s only runs came on Tristan Peters’ two-run homer in the second inning. The Rangers improved to 66-66 and moved a half-game ahead of the idle Houston Astros in the AL West.
5. Cleveland Guardians 4, Los Angeles Angels 2
The Cleveland Guardians extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Parker Messick pitched six innings of one-run baseball, allowing just three hits while striking out four to improve to 10-8.
Jo Adell, facing his former team, broke a 1-1 tie with a two-out RBI single in the fifth inning. Austin Hedges then provided the biggest blow with a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 4-1. Cade Smith allowed a run in the ninth but closed the game for his 34th save. Cleveland improved to 66-66.
6. Chicago Cubs 7, Arizona Diamondbacks 0
Kevin Gausman dominated Arizona as the Chicago Cubs shut out the Diamondbacks 7-0. Gausman allowed only three singles and one walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out six. Ryan Zeferjahn and Caleb Thielbar finished the shutout with scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
Michael Conforto and Carson Kelly hit back-to-back home runs during a three-run sixth inning. Conforto finished with three hits, while Ian Happ and Pedro Ramírez each had two hits and an RBI. Arizona managed only five singles in the game.
7. Pittsburgh Pirates 3, San Diego Padres 2 — 12 Innings
The Pittsburgh Pirates outlasted the San Diego Padres 3-2 in 12 innings at Petco Park. Nick Gonzales delivered the winning run with an RBI single up the middle that scored automatic runner Jared Triolo in the top of the 12th.
San Diego had a major opportunity to win the game in the 11th after loading the bases with one out, but Kirby Yates escaped the inning by striking out Jackson Merrill and retiring Xander Bogaerts on a lineout. Yohan Ramírez then struck out all three Padres he faced in the bottom of the 12th to record the save.
Esmerlyn Valdez homered for Pittsburgh in the sixth inning, and Rafael Flores Jr. added an RBI double. The victory ended Pittsburgh’s three-game losing streak.
8. Minnesota Twins 9, Athletics 6
The Minnesota Twins collected 16 hits in a 9-6 victory over the Athletics. Ryan Kreidler homered, Josh Bell drove in three runs and Kaelen Culpepper recorded a career-high four hits. Byron Buxton added three hits and scored four times.
Zebby Matthews provided Minnesota with seven strong innings, allowing one run while striking out seven to improve to 8-8. The Athletics made the final score considerably closer by scoring four runs with two outs in the ninth inning, including RBI doubles from Jeff McNeil, Zack Gelof and Lawrence Butler, but Minnesota held on for the victory.
9. Seattle Mariners 9, Philadelphia Phillies 2
Cal Raleigh delivered one of the biggest individual performances of the MLB season as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 9-2. Raleigh hit three home runs, becoming the first Mariners player to hit three homers in a game at T-Mobile Park. He finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Seattle struck for five runs in the first inning against Phillies starter Zack Wheeler. Julio Rodríguez hit a three-run homer and Raleigh followed later in the inning with a two-run shot. Raleigh added another homer in the fifth and completed his three-homer performance with a solo shot in the seventh.
Logan Gilbert earned the victory after allowing two runs over five innings. Wheeler was charged with eight runs on nine hits in four-plus innings. The loss ended Philadelphia’s nine-game winning streak.
10. San Francisco Giants 5, Cincinnati Reds 0
Rafael Devers powered the San Francisco Giants to a 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Oracle Park. Devers hit a three-run homer in the second inning, his 27th of the season, after already collecting a single and scoring during San Francisco’s two-run first inning.
The Giants scored all five of their runs against Cincinnati starter Chase Burns, who allowed nine hits and five runs over 3 2/3 innings. San Francisco starter Carson Whisenhunt left the game in the third inning because of discomfort in his left forearm, but five Giants relievers combined to finish the shutout.
San Francisco held Cincinnati to five hits and snapped a four-game losing streak.
