Nicolas Cage is returning as Spider-Man Noir. The confirmation comes as all eight episodes of Prime Video's Spider-Noir have now been released on the streaming service, putting the character through encounters with Sandman, Silvermane, Tombstone, Black Cat, and Robbie Robertson, among others.
According to Screen Rant, Cage will reprise the role of Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is scheduled to release on June 25, 2027. That date falls 396 days after Prime Video's Spider-Noir was made available to stream.
The Prime Video series centers on Ben Reilly, a version of Spider-Man reimagined as an aging private investigator. The character is distinct from the Spider-Man Noir that Cage voiced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, which was closer to the character's original alternate-universe self from the comics. The two versions exist in entirely separate continuities, with the Prime Video series operating outside the broader Marvel movie and television universe.
Cage's Spider-Man Noir had a non-speaking cameo at the end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In that scene, the character was teased as part of Gwen Stacy's team assembled to rescue Miles Morales, setting up a role in the trilogy's conclusion.
As of now, there is no official confirmation from Prime Video that Spider-Noir will return for a second season. Regardless of that outcome, Cage's participation in Beyond the Spider-Verse means fans will see him as Spider-Man on the big screen next year.
The animated film has already faced delays before reaching its current 2027 release date. Whether that schedule holds remains to be seen, but as it stands, June 25, 2027 is the confirmed target.
