Bryce Adair, a CBS Sports production staffer, died at age 31 after sustaining injuries in a single-vehicle car accident Wednesday night in Ohio, where he was working the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament.

Jim Nantz delivered a tribute to Adair during the third-round broadcast on Saturday, according to a report by Yahoo Sports. The death shook the entire production crew on-site at the event.

"Trust me when I tell you that, in over 40 years, I have never seen our crew of 250 people come into a broadcast like this one carrying as much grief as they are now," Nantz said on air.

Nantz spoke at length about Adair during the broadcast, describing his personality and his contributions to the network. "Everyone loved him," Nantz continued. "Every day, Bryce would greet you with a warm smile and a caring, compassionate spirit. He did many things for us. He won an Emmy for our Super Bowl broadcast. The world was his, and he deserved the world. I'm the one who has a chance to tell you how much we loved him."

Adair grew up in Martinez, Georgia, and attended Valdosta State University. His LinkedIn profile showed he began working at CBS in September 2017. A GoFundMe set up to support Adair prior to his death had raised more than $75,000 as of Sunday, June 7.

CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson paid tribute to Adair on social media. "I will remember him for his infectious smile, his love for the Eagles and music. I will miss our high fives on the sidelines and football talks in the car. He will be sorely missed," Wolfson wrote.

A colleague who went to elementary school with Adair before later working with him at CBS also posted a tribute, noting that the two had traveled across the country together and worked on countless productions.
