The 2026 FIFA World Cup officially begins this week, and the opening ceremonies across three countries bring a lineup of major recording artists to the stage alongside the international soccer tournament.
According to Billboard, Mexico's ceremony is first, taking place Thursday, June 11, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. Shakira and Burna Boy headline that show. Canada follows on Friday, June 12, at BMO Field in Toronto, which has been temporarily renamed Toronto Stadium, with Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette leading the lineup. The United States ceremony takes place the same evening at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. ET, where Katy Perry headlines ahead of Team USA's first match against Paraguay.
Other performers across the three events include J Balvin, BLACKPINK's LISA, Tyla, Anitta, and Alessia Cara.
Each ceremony begins approximately 90 minutes before the corresponding match kicks off. All three are broadcast on Fox in English and Telemundo in Spanish.
For those without cable, several streaming options carry both networks. Sling Blue starts at $45.99 per month and includes Fox. Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, and Fox One also carry the broadcasts. DIRECTV's Signature Packages start at $59.99 for the first month and include a five-day free trial. Spanish-language viewers can access Telemundo through DIRECTV's MiEspañol Genre Pack at $29.99 per month for the first two months.
The tournament spans three countries and represents the first World Cup to be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
