The Seattle Seahawks are the defending Super Bowl champions, and according to defensive tackle Leonard Williams, the team is not showing any signs of resting on that accomplishment.

Williams spoke this week about the team's voluntary offseason workouts, noting that the veteran players with guaranteed contracts, the ones who have nothing to prove to keep their roster spots, are the ones showing up and setting the tone. Yahoo Sports reported on his comments.

In the NFL, voluntary workouts carry a different meaning depending on where a player stands on the roster. Players fighting for a spot on the 53-man active roster attend everything because missing a session could cost them their job. But established veterans have the option to stay home. When they choose to come anyway, it sends a message.

Williams described what he has seen in Seattle this offseason. "I feel like it's been great," Williams said, via ESPN. "It's been great attendance from the leaders, from the older guys. Young guys have been working hard, trying to be sponges of the game and learn as much as possible. To me, I really just see our culture elevate to another level. I feel like last year we started putting the mix together, all the ingredients and all that type of stuff. This year, you really see it boiling and becoming more just of a foundation. To me, the culture is the biggest thing that we need here. Guys are going to come and go . . . I feel like if we have a culture and foundation like that, we'll always be a winning team."

Williams has also pointed to the division as extra fuel. The Los Angeles Rams are considered the favorites in the NFC West heading into the 2026 season, a fact that Williams has said provides the Seahawks with added motivation to put in the work this summer.

Repeating as Super Bowl champions is one of the hardest things to do in the NFL. The Seahawks appear to be treating the offseason accordingly.
