Ken Carson's follow-up to his number one album arrives in less than two weeks. The Atlanta rapper announced this week that xperiment will be released July 3 via Opium/Interscope Records, paired with a short film teasing the project.
The announcement came during a milestone stretch for Carson. At Summer Smash in Chicago, he joined Playboi Carti on stage during Carti's festival-closing headlining set, where the two performed an unreleased track called "Cover My Ears." Carson has also been confirmed as a headliner for ComplexCon 2026 on Saturday, October 3 in Los Angeles, as part of Opium's takeover of the festival's 10th anniversary celebration.
According to Billboard, xperiment follows More Chaos, Carson's 2025 Billboard 200 chart-topper. More Chaos debuted at number 1 with 59,500 equivalent album units, marking Carson's first top 10 entry on the chart and displacing Playboi Carti, his label boss, in the process. Before that, A Great Chaos peaked at number 11 in 2023, and X landed at number 115 in 2022.
More Chaos also produced a standout moment in "Off the Meter," a surprise bonus track released on launch night that marked the first official collaboration among Carson, Carti, and Destroy Lonely.
Carson previewed music from xperiment last month at Rolling Loud Orlando 2026, where he closed out the Under Armour Stage with his first Sunday night headlining set at the festival. Surprise guests included Lil Tecca, Destroy Lonely, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti.
Beyond the new album, Carson has built a significant live footprint. His recent touring includes an 80-date Chaos World Tour and a sold-out WTF headline run across Europe and the UK. He has also collaborated on fashion projects with Affliction, SKIMS x Cactus Plant Flea Market, and Jesse Jo Stark's Deadly Doll line.
This summer, Carson will continue with European festival dates at Roskilde in Denmark, Splash! in Germany, Openair Frauenfeld in Switzerland, Clout Festival in Poland, and Frequency Festival in Austria.
