Isaiah Hartenstein is staying in Oklahoma City. The center intends to sign a new three-year contract worth $75 million to return to the Thunder through the 2028-29 season, sources told ESPN.
The deal keeps one of the team's key frontcourt pieces in place as the Thunder continue building around their young core. Hartenstein joined Oklahoma City last season and became an important contributor on a team that has emerged as one of the stronger programs in the Western Conference.
At $25 million per year on average, the contract reflects the center market across the league, where rim-protecting, pick-and-roll-capable bigs have consistently drawn significant money in recent free agency cycles. Hartenstein fits that profile. He is a functional offensive player and a dependable defender who operates well in team systems built around ball movement and pace.
The Thunder now have him under contract alongside their other key contributors into the second half of the decade.
