Vin Diesel went on Instagram Thursday to show fans what is happening on the set of Fast Forever, the eleventh and final film in The Fast and the Furious franchise.

"I'm on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working," Diesel said in the video. "I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world. You've been patient to the industry, you've been patient to the studio and you've been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we've been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale."

According to Variety, the film is set for release on March 17, 2028. Since its launch in 2001, the franchise has grossed more than $7 billion at the global box office, making it Universal's highest-grossing and longest-running series. Furious 7 remains the top performer of the bunch, bringing in $1.5 billion worldwide.

Diesel acknowledged in the video that the long wait between films has given him time to take on other projects. He singled out a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots film for Mattel Studios, which he will star in and write.

"But through it all, one thing I know is, I can feel your support, and that means the world to me. So, let me get back to this filming, and just know that I hope to make you all proud," Diesel said.

The franchise is also expanding to television. At NBCUniversal's upfront presentation in May, Diesel announced that Peacock is developing four separate shows set in the Fast and Furious universe. "For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more," Diesel said at the event. He credited NBCUniversal executive Donna Langley with giving him confidence that the TV expansion would maintain the integrity of the franchise's characters.

Fast Forever does not yet have a completed release date beyond the March 2028 window.
