The 2026 Genesis Scottish Open begins Thursday at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, with world number one Scottie Scheffler installed as the favorite at +550 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Rory McIlroy is next on the board at +1000, followed by Jon Rahm at +1500 and Xander Schauffele at +2000. Chris Gotterup, who won this event last year and also took last week's John Deere Classic, is listed at +2700, according to CBS Sports.

The event draws a full complement of top talent in part because of its timing. It sits one week before the Open Championship, making it a traditional tune-up for players preparing for links conditions.

One player the SportsLine computer model is fading this week is Rahm, despite his third-place position on the odds board. The model projects him to barely finish inside the top 10. Rahm missed the cut at the U.S. Open this year and finished T38 at the Masters. The last time he played this event, in 2022, he shot 5 over and finished outside the top 50.

Wyndham Clark, also listed at +2700, is a player the model views as strong value. Clark won the U.S. Open and has not finished worse than T11 in his last five events. In four previous Scottish Open appearances, he has never finished worse than T25 and posted back-to-back top-11 finishes. The model considers him one of the better bets on the board this week despite his long odds.

The SportsLine model has nailed 17 majors entering the weekend, including the 2026 Masters, last year's PGA Championship, and last year's Open Championship.

First round tee times begin Thursday at The Renaissance Club.
