FC Barcelona are close to completing a permanent deal for German winger Karim Adeyemi, with an official announcement potentially coming within days.
According to Yahoo Sports, Barcelona's sporting department has worked behind the scenes to finalize the transfer. Two factors have moved negotiations forward: Adeyemi has only one year remaining on his contract with Borussia Dortmund, and the player himself has been pushing to leave, a desire he had already expressed last summer.
The asking price has also shifted. German outlets BILD and Kicker initially valued Adeyemi at more than 50 million euros, but the fee could drop by around 10 million euros. Dortmund need the sale revenue to fund their coach Ole Book's plans for the squad, and Adeyemi along with striker Serhou Guirassy have been identified as the main candidates to depart.
Barcelona have been active in the transfer window, with Adeyemi potentially becoming the club's second signing of the summer.
