Barcelona have placed Arsenal defender William Saliba on their list of primary targets for the summer transfer window, according to a report by Yahoo Sports citing transfer outlet Fichajes. The Spanish club has been monitoring Saliba's situation, and manager Hansi Flick is reportedly keen to bring him to the Camp Nou, though he understands completing a deal would be extremely difficult.

Saliba has become one of Arsenal's most important players. He is also a first-choice starter for France at the World Cup, where his performances have continued to draw attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

This is not the first time Saliba has attracted interest from Spain. He was previously linked with a move to Real Madrid, and Arsenal grew concerned at one point that he could eventually leave for Spanish football. Those fears were put to rest when Saliba signed his most recent contract, committing his future to the club.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta and Flick reportedly agree that Saliba represents exactly the type of player the club should be targeting. They believe his qualities would strengthen their defensive options. Despite that shared conviction, the report makes clear that Arsenal have no intention of selling him. The Gunners view Saliba as an unsellable player and are focused on holding onto their best assets as they push to win more trophies.

Saliba's consistency and reliability at the highest level have made him one of the most sought-after defenders in European football. His performances for both Arsenal and France have only strengthened that reputation over the past year.

Arsenal's position appears firm. The club is building around players like Saliba and has shown no willingness to entertain offers, regardless of who is asking. Barcelona may continue to monitor the situation, but as things stand, a transfer this summer looks unlikely to move forward.
