Conor McGregor is back. After five years away from competition, the Irish fighter headlines UFC 329 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, taking on Max Holloway in the main event.
According to CBS Sports, McGregor's last appearance came in 2021, when he suffered a broken leg during a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. Before that injury, McGregor had become a two-division champion in 2016 when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez. In the years since that title run, he has just one win to his name.
Holloway steps up to 170 pounds for the first time, making his debut at welterweight after previously competing at featherweight and lightweight. He held the ceremonial BMF title at 155 pounds and is coming off a loss to Charles Oliveira in March. Holloway enters Saturday's fight as the betting favorite, priced at -225 on DraftKings as of July 10, while McGregor sits at +185.
The welterweight matchup between two of the sport's most recognizable names is not the only high-profile contest on the card.
In the co-main event, Paddy Pimblett returns to face Benoit Saint Denis in a lightweight bout. Pimblett suffered his first UFC loss in January, falling to new undisputed champion Justin Gaethje in a fight that went the full distance. Saint Denis is listed as the -148 favorite, with Pimblett at +124.
The full 13-fight card includes a bantamweight matchup between Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista, a flyweight contest between Lone'er Kavanagh and Brandon Royval, and a heavyweight bout featuring Gable Steveson, who enters as a heavy -1800 favorite against Elisha Ellison. Also on the card, former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt takes on Adrian Yanez, where Garbrandt enters as a significant underdog at +330.
Robert Whittaker fights Nikita Krylov at light heavyweight, and the women's flyweight division is represented by Wang Cong against Tracy Cortez. Farid Basharat meets John Garza in a bantamweight contest, and Damian Pinas takes on Cesar Almeida at middleweight.
The card begins Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
