Scheffler carries odds of +350 at FanDuel Sportsbook entering the Tour Championship, which begins at 10:03 a.m. ET. Rory McIlroy is second on the board at +950. Wyndham Clark, who won the BMW Championship last week, is listed at +1600. Defending Tour Championship winner Tommy Fleetwood sits at +2000.
The format this year offers no staggered scoring start. All 30 players in the field begin on equal terms, making the tournament a straightforward 72-hole competition with no built-in advantages for players who earned more points during the playoffs.
Scheffler won the FedEx St. Jude Championship in the first round of the playoffs. Clark followed by taking the BMW Championship, setting up a compelling final event between two players who have won in the past two weeks.
According to CBS Sports, a computer model from SportsLine that has correctly predicted 17 major winners entering the weekend simulated the Tour Championship 10,000 times. The results produced some notable surprises on both ends of the leaderboard.
Xander Schauffele, listed at +1200 for the third-lowest odds in the field, is one player the model suggests fading. Schauffele has no wins this season and only three top-5 finishes. He finished tied for 26th at the BMW Championship in the 50-golfer field. The model notes he has been a consistent presence near the top at East Lake, but has not won the event since 2017.
On the other side, the model is high on Sam Burns at +1800. Burns finished tied for 28th last week, but has recorded top-5 finishes at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the Open Championship, and the U.S. Open during the second half of the season. He also has a pair of top-10 finishes at East Lake in the past three years, which the model treats as relevant course history heading into the week.
The Tour Championship runs through Sunday, with the full $40 million purse distributed across the no-cut field.
