Kacey Musgraves has canceled three dates from her upcoming Middle of Nowhere tour, including what had been scheduled as the trek's opening night. No reason has been given.
The canceled shows are the August 20 performance at United Center in Chicago, the August 29 show at TD Garden in Boston, and the September 2 concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Fans learned of the cancellations through emails from Ticketmaster, according to multiple reports and social media posts, as Billboard reported.
One fan's cancellation notice read: "Please be advised that the Kacey Musgraves concert scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026 at TD Garden has been canceled. All tickets will be automatically refunded to fans at their original point of purchase. Please allow 7-10 business days for refunds to process."
Musgraves has not publicly addressed the changes. No explanation has appeared on her official social media accounts.
All three affected cities were scheduled to host multiple Musgraves shows. Tickets for alternate dates in Chicago, Boston, and New York remain available. The tour is now set to begin in Chicago on August 21, according to Ticketmaster's listing.
The Middle of Nowhere tour supports Musgraves' latest album of the same name, released May 1. The project follows her 2024 album Deeper Well and includes the singles "Dry Spell" and "Mexico Honey." Earlier this week, Musgraves released a video for "Mexico Honey," which shows her performing the track in a karaoke-bar setting.
Middle of Nowhere debuted in the top 10 across seven Billboard charts dated May 16. It opened at No. 1 on Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales. It also arrived at No. 2 on Top Country Albums and Americana/Folk Albums, No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and No. 10 on Top Streaming Albums.
The album launched with 100,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending May 7, marking Musgraves' best week ever by units. Vinyl accounted for a little more than 37,000 of that total, also giving her best sales week on vinyl. Middle of Nowhere was her third No. 1 on Top Album Sales, following Deeper Well in 2024 and Star-Crossed in 2021. "Dry Spell" peaked at No. 15 on Hot Country Songs in March.
No rescheduled dates for the three canceled shows have been announced.
