A pair of custom sneakers Justin Bieber wore during his performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show sold for $26,400 at a Christie's auction on Wednesday, more than ten times the initial estimate of $2,000 to $4,000.
The shoes are from the Matter Daddy line of Bieber's SKYLRK apparel brand, in a latte colorway with light pink accents. According to Billboard, Bieber debuted that specific colorway during the halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19, wearing them while performing the acoustic ballad Everything Hallelujah during the Spain versus Argentina final. The proceeds will benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund as part of Christie's One Goal auction, a $100 million initiative aimed at expanding access to education and soccer for children worldwide.
Bieber's sneakers were far from the biggest seller in the auction. Clothing and accessories worn by BTS during their halftime performance collectively raised more than $300,000. The group performed their Billboard Hot 100 number one hit Dynamite during the show. Among the individual items, a white and red jersey with BTS patches worn by Jimin sold for $110,000. A custom black silk scarf worn by V, featuring the group's name, demon faces, and soccer balls, sold for $46,200, the same price as the red, black, and white motocross jacket worn by Jung Kook. Black and red fingerless gloves worn by j-hope brought in $28,600. Suga's red leather pants with a sewn-in silk scarf featuring all the members' names sold for $33,000. RM's chunky black boots fetched $19,800, and a red leather belt worn by Jin sold for $16,500.
Other items from the halftime show also drew serious bids. A pair of bright pink bedazzled fingerless gloves worn by Madonna during her opening set sold for $41,800. A bright yellow costume worn by Shakira in the official Dai Dai music video went for $8,250, and an Earth Ball soccer ball signed by Shakira, former footballer Kaka, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino sold for $3,850.
Coldplay's Chris Martin, who served as set curator for the finale of the halftime show and performed the original song We Dance with the PS22 Chorus, also contributed items to the auction. A two-page handwritten lyric sheet for We Dance, featuring the lyrics on one page and the halftime show setlist on the other, along with Martin's signature and a personal message, sold for $15,400. A blue World Cup Earth ball inscribed with the names of the halftime performers by Martin brought in more than $6,000.
The halftime show also featured Madonna, Shakira, Burna Boy, the Muppets' Electric Mayhem band, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the New York Philharmonic. It was the first-ever FIFA World Cup final to include a halftime show.
