Great Britain claimed three gold medals at the European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy, with victories in the women's four, the PR3 mixed coxed four, and a men's four development race.
According to BBC Sport, Eleanor Brinkhoff, Angharad Broughton, Sarah Marshall, and Holly Youd led most of the women's four race before holding off Germany to take the win. The margin was not commanding, but the crew stayed in front when it mattered.
In the PR3 mixed coxed four, the British crew of Frankie Allen, Charlotte Coburn, Josh O'Brien, Jonty Ridley, and cox Omar Al-Miqdadi were dominant. They won by nearly six seconds from Italy, a significant margin in international rowing competition.
The men's four crew of Theo Bell, Josh Brangan, Sam Ford, and Tom O'Sullivan had a tighter finish. Romania closed the gap in the latter stages of the race, but the British crew held on to win.
The event in Varese serves as preparation for the 2026 World Championships, which run from August 24 to 30 in the Netherlands. Britain's senior men's team is not competing in Italy. They are currently in Switzerland for a training camp ahead of the World Championships.
