The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired reliever Camilo Doval from the New York Yankees on Saturday, adding bullpen depth as the team pushes to end an 11-year postseason drought.
Both teams announced the trade, according to ESPN. The Pirates identified the bullpen as an area of need during their push toward a potential playoff spot, and Doval was the target they moved to secure before the deadline.
The trade gives Pittsburgh a proven arm out of the bullpen as the team looks to return to the postseason for the first time since 2015.
