Galatasaray are in talks with RB Leipzig about signing striker Conrad Harder, with the two clubs currently at odds over the structure of a potential deal. The Turkish club is seeking a loan with an option to buy. Leipzig wants a permanent sale.
According to Sky Germany, as reported by Yahoo Sports, Galatasaray made contact with Leipzig over a move for the Danish forward. Harder is 21 years old and joined Leipzig just last summer from Sporting CP. After one season in Germany, he is already being linked with a move away.
Harder's first season at Leipzig was limited. He appeared 32 times across all competitions but started few of those matches, finishing the year with three goals. Most of his appearances came off the bench, and the lack of regular playing time appears to be a driving factor behind his potential departure.
The player himself is said to be open to the move. If Galatasaray and Leipzig can agree on terms, Harder is willing to join the Istanbul club. That willingness from the player's side could help push negotiations forward, but the gap between a loan structure and an outright sale remains the central obstacle.
Galatasaray have been active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their attacking options. Harder's age and his experience in the Bundesliga, even as a substitute, make him an attractive target for a club that competes in European competition.
Leipzig, for their part, have little incentive to send a young striker out on loan when they could bring in a permanent fee. The club invested in Harder when they signed him from Sporting, and a loan deal would not recoup any of that investment. Whether either side bends on the structure of the deal will determine if the transfer gets completed before the window closes.
