Wisconsin basketball guard Braeden Carrington is set to return for a fifth season after being granted a temporary restraining order through a California lawsuit, according to Yahoo Sports.

Carrington is among a group of more than 70 players who received the TRO, which grants an additional year of eligibility. The news broke on August 18, just weeks before the regular season approaches. Wisconsin still had the 15th roster spot open before the announcement.

Last season, Carrington averaged 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 40.8 percent from the field. He did not start a game, but averaged 18.1 minutes per game, giving him a consistent role off the bench. The Badgers went 24-10 that season before losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

If welcomed back, Carrington would join a veteran-heavy roster. Wisconsin already has six seniors on the team and seven upperclassmen in total, making it one of the more experienced rosters in the country heading into coach Greg Gard's 12th season.

The program has already added seven new players this offseason. Carrington's return would be the eighth addition and would fill the final open roster spot.
