According to Yahoo Sports, the Rams carry a 3-0 preseason record into the game and hold a 3-2 edge over the Chargers across the six-year series. Sean McVay's team has a chance to finish the preseason undefeated.
Fans should not expect to see many familiar faces on the field. The Rams have maintained a strict approach of sitting players expected to make the opening roster, and the team added two camp bodies this week to fill out the roster for the game. The Chargers gave many of their contributors playing time in Week 2 of the preseason, so starters are not expected to see action Thursday either.
The short turnaround for both teams, with only a few days of rest between games, points toward a low-intensity contest. Nothing like what fans saw last year, which was described as a barn-burner by comparison.
Since both teams share the Inglewood facility, the Chargers serve as the official home team for Thursday's game.
The game will air nationally on NFL Network. Locally, CBS LA and its affiliates will carry the broadcast at 4 p.m. PST. Play-by-play for the local broadcast will be handled by JB Long, with Rob Havenstein and Jourdan Rodrigue serving as color analysts and Darren Haynes reporting from the sideline.
Radio coverage will be available on ESPN LA 710 AM and 93.1 Jack FM in simulcast. Camryn Irwin calls the play-by-play on radio, with Maurice Jones-Drew as color analyst and D'Marco Farr on the sideline.
