OneRepublic performed the halftime show at Thursday night's game between the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. The game was played Sept. 17 at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, and was the Bills' first regular-season game in the stadium. Prime Video carried the game nationally and showed a portion of OneRepublic's halftime performance live, according to the Buffalo Bills.
OneRepublic has been active for more than two decades. The band formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and currently has six members. Singer Ryan Tedder leads the group and plays a major role in the band's success. Tedder has become a well-known figure in the music industry beyond his role as a singer.
He has won three Grammy Awards, all in the category of album of the year. These awards were given for his work with other artists, not just his own music. Tedder received those Grammys for his work on Adele's 21, Taylor Swift's 1989 and Adele's 25, according to the Recording Academy.
OneRepublic first formed in Colorado Springs but gained popularity after moving to Los Angeles. The current lineup is Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Brian Willett, Brent Kutzle and Eddie Fisher, according to Universal Music Canada.
The Bills announced OneRepublic as the halftime headliner, while Ticketmaster presented the show and Prime Video carried part of it live. The halftime show was the first at the Bills' new Highmark Stadium.
Fans inside the stadium received PixMob LED bracelets that lit up in sync with the music. The Bills said the show would include a three- to four-song set with a synchronized light display, professionally mixed audio and graphics.
The performance marked a notable moment for the band as it played in front of a national NFL audience.
