7-Eleven has launched a new seasonal coffee lineup that puts its lower-priced fall drinks in competition with Starbucks. The company's latest offering includes pumpkin-based drinks that mirror popular Starbucks fall items like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. One of the new drinks is a hot Pumpkin Cappuccino that combines pumpkin and warm fall flavors with a creamy finish. Another seasonal option is the Pumpkin Brulee iced cold brew latte, which brings those same seasonal notes over ice.

In addition to the pumpkin flavors, 7-Eleven also offers a Hanks Pumpkin Brulee Coffee as a hot option. This version pairs pumpkin with toasted vanilla for a subtly sweet finish. For customers who want to enjoy the flavors at home, 7-Eleven also sells Chocolate Turtle coffee in pods and ground bags. The Hanks Chocolate Turtle products are available at participating 7-Eleven locations while the seasonal drink offers are available at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores.

The lineup also includes a bottled 7-Select Pumpkin Spice Iced Cappuccino. For a limited time, two bottles are being offered for $5.50 at participating locations.

The company has upgraded its coffee program to improve quality and customer experience, according to TheStreet. Many 7-Eleven locations now use bean-to-cup machines that store whole beans and grind them just before brewing. This differs from older systems that kept pre-ground coffee warm in carafes. The new setup includes more specialty machines and flavoring options to help customers customize their drinks.

Consumers are still willing to pay more for Starbucks despite the higher prices. RTM Nexus CEO Dominick Miserandino explained that people are not just buying coffee. He said the emotional benefits of a Starbucks experience outweigh the cost difference. Starbucks is seen as more than just a place to get coffee, but as a familiar ritual and identity marker. 7-Eleven is still largely viewed as a convenient place to grab coffee, not a destination experience.

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol has tried to reestablish the company as a 'third place' between home and work. He defended the company's pricing by saying customers value the experience they receive. Niccol believes a $9 coffee experience feels like a special treat, even for those with modest incomes. He also said that the company must make its premium experience worth the price.

Consumer Edge analyst Michael Gunther sees a trend where people are shifting some dining spending toward eating at home while continuing to spend on daily drinks. This shift supports Starbucks' ability to maintain higher prices for its coffee products. Gunther told Reuters that consumers may be cutting back in some areas while continuing to pay $7 or $8 for coffee.

Despite the competition, 7-Eleven's improved coffee program allows consumers to save money on their daily coffee habit. The company’s investment in quality and convenience could have a significant impact on personal finances over time.

7-Eleven continues to focus on value and accessibility for its customers. Chef’s Resource also provides tips for getting the best coffee at 7-Eleven. Customers are advised to look for machines with a 'freshly ground' indicator light. They should avoid coffee that has been sitting in a carafe for more than 30 minutes. Using the provided lids helps maintain temperature, since paper cups lose heat quickly. For iced coffee, customers can add ice after filling the cup or use the machine's 'Iced Coffee' setting.

The new lineup expands 7-Eleven's effort to make its convenience store food and beverage program more appealing. By offering similar fall flavors at lower prices, the chain gives consumers another option during the popular pumpkin coffee season.
