The Detroit Tigers snapped a six-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays. Max Clark provided the biggest swing, hitting a two-run homer in the fifth inning for his first home run at Comerica Park and the second of his major league career. Jackson Jobe allowed one run over 4 1/3 innings before Detroit's bullpen shut down Tampa Bay. The Tigers improved to 62-70, while the Rays fell to 78-54.
Boston Red Sox 7, Miami Marlins 3 — 11 innings
Boston extended its winning streak to five games by beating Miami 7-3 in 11 innings. Mickey Gasper hit two solo home runs, but the game remained tied until Jarren Duran broke it open with a grand slam in the top of the 11th. Alec Gamboa worked 1 1/3 hitless innings for his first major league victory. Boston improved to 73-59, while Miami dropped to 67-66.
Colorado Rockies 3, Washington Nationals 1
Hunter Goodman made an immediate impact in his return from the injured list, homering in the fourth inning as Colorado defeated Washington 3-1. Connor Norby added an RBI double, and Jordan Beck scored on a wild pitch. Colorado prospect Mason Adams allowed one run while striking out five in his major league debut, and Jordan Romano recorded his 13th save. The Rockies improved to 51-81, with Washington falling to 62-72.
Houston Astros 9, New York Yankees 7
Houston won a back-and-forth game at Yankee Stadium, scoring three runs in the eighth inning to move ahead for good in a 9-7 victory. Yainer Diaz homered twice and later added an RBI double, while Yordan Alvarez delivered a go-ahead triple in the eighth. Josh Hader recorded his 19th save. Houston moved back to .500 at 66-66, while the Yankees slipped to 74-57.
Kansas City Royals 5, Toronto Blue Jays 3
The Royals continued one of baseball's hottest streaks by defeating Toronto 5-3 for their ninth consecutive victory. Seth Lugo gave Kansas City five strong innings, and Salvador Perez contributed an RBI single. Toronto scored twice in the ninth on a Nathan Lukes single, but Lukes was thrown out trying to advance to second base to end the game. Kansas City improved to 59-74, while Toronto fell to 64-69.
New York Mets 3, Milwaukee Brewers 2 — 10 innings
Francisco Lindor helped the Mets upset the MLB-leading Brewers 3-2 in 10 innings at Citi Field. Lindor homered to tie the game in the fifth and later made a diving defensive play that helped keep Milwaukee from taking the lead in the ninth. He scored the winning run in the 10th following a Brewers throwing error. Milwaukee remained atop the majors at 81-51, while New York improved to 60-72.
Atlanta Braves 4, Los Angeles Dodgers 3
Atlanta won a matchup between two of the National League's top teams when Ozzie Albies delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning. The Braves had taken a 3-0 lead in the first before Los Angeles tied the game. Shohei Ohtani tripled in the ninth, but Raisel Iglesias stranded him and earned his 28th save. Atlanta improved to 77-55, while the NL West-leading Dodgers fell to 80-52.
Chicago White Sox 11, Texas Rangers 7
Chicago answered an 11-2 loss to Texas the previous night with an offensive explosion of its own, beating the Rangers 11-7. The White Sox scored six runs in the first inning and eventually collected 14 hits. Tristan Peters went 3-for-3, drove in three runs and homered as Chicago held off a Texas comeback attempt. The White Sox improved to 69-63 and remained atop the AL Central, while Texas fell to 66-67.
Baltimore Orioles 13, St. Louis Cardinals 1
Pete Alonso powered Baltimore to one of the most lopsided victories of the night, going 4-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and four RBIs in a 13-1 rout of St. Louis. Christian Encarnacion-Strand also homered, while the Orioles erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning. Chris Bassitt allowed only one run over 6 2/3 innings. Baltimore improved to 64-68, and St. Louis dropped to 66-67.
Cleveland Guardians 8, Los Angeles Angels 6 — 10 innings
Cleveland erased an early 5-0 deficit and eventually defeated the Angels 8-6 in 10 innings. José Ramírez drove in five runs, including a game-tying double in the eighth and a two-run go-ahead double in the 10th. Steven Kwan went 5-for-5 with three runs scored. Cleveland extended its winning streak to six games and improved to 67-66, while the Angels fell to 52-81.
Arizona Diamondbacks 5, Chicago Cubs 4
Arizona produced perhaps the most dramatic comeback of Tuesday night. Chicago led 4-0 after Ian Happ hit a three-run homer and Michael Busch added an RBI single, but the Diamondbacks scored three times in the eighth. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Waldschmidt hit a two-run walk-off homer to complete the 5-4 comeback. Arizona improved to 70-63, while Chicago fell to 76-57.
Pittsburgh Pirates 1, San Diego Padres 0
Paul Skenes and Michael King engaged in a pitching duel that remained scoreless until the ninth inning. Skenes threw six scoreless innings for Pittsburgh, while King tossed seven scoreless frames for San Diego. Oneil Cruz finally broke the tie with a two-out solo homer off Mason Miller in the ninth, ending Miller's lengthy homerless streak. Pittsburgh improved to 65-69, while San Diego fell to 71-62.
Athletics 4, Minnesota Twins 2
Rookie Gage Jump struck out nine over 6 1/3 innings as the Athletics defeated Minnesota 4-2. Carlos Cortes opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the second, and Oakland carried a 4-0 advantage into the seventh before Minnesota mounted a late response. Taj Bradley struck out 11 for the Twins despite taking the loss. The Athletics improved to 52-81, while Minnesota dropped to 64-69.
Seattle Mariners 4, Philadelphia Phillies 1
George Kirby helped Seattle hold Philadelphia to one run in a 4-1 victory. Justin Crawford gave the Phillies an early lead with an RBI single, but Cal Raleigh answered with his 18th home run. Josh Naylor put Seattle ahead with an RBI single in the sixth before Dominic Canzone added a two-run single in the seventh. Andrés Muñoz earned his 24th save. Seattle improved to 64-69, while Philadelphia fell to 73-60.
San Francisco Giants 3, Cincinnati Reds 1
The Giants overcame another injury to a starting pitcher to defeat Cincinnati 3-1. Adrian Houser left in the second inning with elbow discomfort, but Anthony Molina responded with 4 1/3 scoreless innings in his major league debut. Rafael Devers homered for the second consecutive game, while Drew Cavanaugh collected three hits. San Francisco improved to 54-78, while Cincinnati fell to 62-71.

In the American League East, Tampa Bay leads at 78-54, followed by the Yankees at 74-57 and Boston at 73-59. Baltimore is 64-68 and Toronto is 64-69.
The White Sox lead the AL Central at 69-63, with Cleveland close behind at 67-66. Minnesota is 64-69, Detroit is 62-70 and Kansas City is 59-74.
