Tom Hardy was fired from MobLand after repeatedly arriving late to set during the production of season 2. Now, according to a report by Puck, there may be a path back for the actor on the Paramount+ crime drama.
Hardy also clashed with showrunner Jez Butterworth and executive producer David Glasser during filming. He had expressed displeasure that MobLand had shifted into more of an ensemble show after being built around him.
Screen Rant reports that Hardy has made peace with the fact that he was fired. Despite that, Paramount is now trying to set up a meeting between Hardy and the show's producers. Glasser is reportedly open to sitting down with the actor.
The production is already moving ahead without him. MobLand season 3 has a writers' room open and a tentative plan to begin filming later this year. Writers are currently working without Hardy in mind, and producers are already looking at actors in his age range to fill the role.
A positive meeting could still change the direction of that planning, though no deal or agreement has been reached.
