Valve has confirmed that both the Steam Machine and Steam Frame will launch this summer, though the company has still not said what either device will cost.

The announcement came in a developer-focused blog post published this week, according to a report by Engadget. The main subject of that post was actually the company's Verified program, which originally launched alongside the Steam Deck to tell players how well games would run on the handheld. Valve is now extending that program to cover the Steam Machine and Steam Frame.

For the Steam Machine, the requirements to earn a Verified badge will be nearly identical to those already used for the Steam Deck. The Steam Frame has its own set of criteria. According to Valve, the Steam Frame Standalone Verified program focuses on the out-of-the-box experience in standalone mode. "Like Steam Deck Verified, the Steam Frame Standalone Verified program focuses on the experience customers will have with the device out-of-the-box in standalone mode. The criteria are similar as well: the default graphics configuration needs to perform well, text and UI elements need to be clear and legible on the built-in display, and the default controller configuration needs to work well with the Steam Frame Controllers. The same test criteria apply to both VR titles and non-VR titles," Valve wrote.

Speculation about pricing has been ongoing since Valve first announced the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller in November 2025. The question of cost has become harder to answer because of an ongoing global memory shortage that has driven up prices on gaming hardware across the industry. Xbox, Sony, and Valve have all raised prices on existing products this year by hundreds of dollars each. Valve raised the price of the Steam Deck by as much as $300. Nintendo is also planning price increases for the Switch 2.

The Steam Controller, the first of the three new products to reach consumers, went on sale May 4 at $99.

Valve also made changes to the Steam Store homepage this week. The redesign features wider and higher-resolution images, more quick-look details on games, and the return of Wishlist and DLC sections. A new Personal Calendar offers game promotions based on individual play history, and the Discovery Queue is now available as an overlay. Infinite scroll has also been added to the homepage.
