Jay-Z brought out Slick Rick, Eminem, and Pharrell for the second night of his three-night residency at Yankee Stadium, centering the show on a full performance of The Blueprint as the album marks its 25th anniversary.
According to Billboard, the Brooklyn rapper opened the show with "The Ruler's Back" before bringing Slick Rick out to perform "La Di Da Di" and "Children's Story." Eminem followed, joining Jay-Z on their collaborative track "Renegade" before delivering a performance of his own hit "Lose Yourself," which caught the crowd off guard.
Pharrell closed out the guest appearances late in the show. The two performers worked through a run of songs they have recorded together, including "Frontin'," "Excuse Me Miss," "Give It to Me," and "Allure." The audience responded strongly throughout the night, singing along to nearly every song in what Billboard described as a nearly 30-song set.
The Blueprint, released in 2001, is widely considered one of the defining albums in hip-hop history. The setlist drew from across the record, including "U Don't Know," "Hola Hovito," "Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)," "Never Change," and "Song Cry," alongside later Jay-Z tracks such as "Empire State of Mind" and "N---as in Paris."
With two nights completed, the residency concludes with a third and final show. Billboard noted that fans are left guessing what Jay-Z has planned for the last night of what it called a once-in-a-lifetime weekend.
