A shooting near an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho left multiple people dead and others injured Saturday afternoon. The suspected shooter is also dead.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks addressed reporters Saturday evening but said he could not provide an exact number of people killed or injured. Police are still working to identify the shooter and determine a motive, Hicks said.
Officers responded to a call for shots fired at the In-N-Out on Blue Lakes Boulevard. A large police presence from multiple agencies responded to the scene, which Hicks described as an "exceptionally chaotic scene" due to the restaurant's location near a busy shopping area with potentially hundreds of people nearby.
The FBI said it was aware of the situation and offering assistance to local law enforcement, according to an agency spokesman, as reported by ABC News.
Idaho Gov. Brad Little posted a statement on social media asking for prayers "as law enforcement and first responders respond to an active shooter situation near In-N-Out."
Twin Falls is a city of more than 56,000 people located about 128 miles southeast of Boise. Police are still interviewing witnesses and asked anyone with information to come forward.
