Barry Manilow postponed his Monday night concert in Lexington, Kentucky, giving fans little advance notice before the show was scheduled to begin at Rupp Arena.
Manilow announced the cancellation in an Instagram post on Monday, writing, "Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight's show in Lexington has been rescheduled." Rupp Arena confirmed the postponement in a Facebook post, saying all previously purchased tickets would be honored once a new date was set.
According to ABC News, the 83-year-old singer is currently in the middle of a farewell tour, with upcoming dates in Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
The Lexington cancellation is not the first disruption to the tour. Manilow revealed last December that he had been diagnosed with cancer. In June, he told ABC News that doctors had specifically identified lung cancer and that he had undergone a lung lobectomy, a surgical procedure that removed part of one of his lungs and altered his voice.
While he was recovering from surgery, Manilow postponed residency concerts in Las Vegas and rescheduled additional shows on the advice of his doctors.
No specific reason was provided for the Lexington postponement beyond the reference to unforeseen circumstances. ABC News said it reached out to Manilow for comment but had not received a response as of publication.
