Seth Rogen's Apple TV+ series The Studio has become the winningest freshman comedy in television history, according to Deadline, after the show's victory at the BAFTA Television Awards this past weekend completed a sweep of every major awards show in a single season.

The satirical series, which follows Matt Remick, a bumbling studio executive at the fictitious Continental Studios, took home wins at the Emmys, Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, Producers Guild, Directors Guild, and Writers Guild shows. At the BAFTA ceremony, it also became the first comedy in a decade to win in the International category, giving Apple TV+ its first win in that race.

The Emmy haul alone was historic. The Studio took home 13 wins at that ceremony, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Rogen, breaking an existing record. The series also joined a small group of shows to win the Golden Globe, Emmy, and Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy in the same season. Additional honors included an American Film Institute Award for TV Program of the Year and a full sweep at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards.

At the BAFTA ceremony, Rogen used his acceptance speech to honor late co-star Catherine O'Hara, the comedy legend who appeared in the series before her death.

"It would be remiss of me not to mention Catherine O'Hara, she meant so much to us," he said. "I assume her work was as important to y'all over here as it was to us, so this is for Catherine."

The show's premise centers on the tension between artistic ambition and corporate bottom lines inside a fictional Hollywood studio. Critics and voters across the industry responded to its inside-baseball comedy about the entertainment world's contradictions, sending the freshman series on an unbroken awards run across the entire season.

Season 2 is currently in production.
