Federal prosecutors in Atlanta have charged a 33-year-old man with robbing 10 businesses at gunpoint over three months, each time wearing a different costume to avoid identification.
Tracy Mingo of College Park, Georgia, is accused of targeting employees at Circle K, Subway, and Family Dollar locations throughout the Atlanta area between October 2025 and January 2026, according to the FBI. Mingo allegedly entered each store late at night, after all or nearly all customers had left, and robbed employees at gunpoint.
According to the indictment, Mingo dressed as a construction worker, a health care professional, and a security guard, among other disguises. U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg told ABC News that Mingo dressed "head to toe" in each disguise "so that one couldn't see exactly who he is."
"These were all very serious crimes," Hertzberg said. "To rob these people at gunpoint and to get away with thousands of dollars each time, it's really a blessing that nobody was hurt or killed."
Police and the FBI arrested Mingo in January after they said he appeared to be putting on the same security guard disguise he had used during a Circle K robbery the night before. Because the robberies took place across multiple municipalities in four different counties, the FBI worked with local agencies, Hertzberg said, "in order to piece this together and figure out that it was the same perpetrator who was involved in these 10 different incidents."
Mingo is now charged with 20 counts, including Hobbs Act robbery, attempted Hobbs Act robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
FBI Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Marlo Graham addressed the case in a statement. "For months, Mingo allegedly used disguises in an attempt to evade identification and continue targeting innocent workers at gunpoint," Graham said. "He underestimated the determination of the investigators pursuing him and the strength of the partnerships that exist between the FBI and our state and local law enforcement partners."
